For fun, i tried the official full boot camp windows installer setup.exe file again, ran it in windows 7 compatibility mode, and it installed. i could swear i tried this before and it didn't work. the only thing it didn't get was the correct graphics driver, but i have those files from edit 2.. Unfortunately, my upgrade to windows 10 didn't go as smoothly. i have a 13" mid-2009 mbp (macbook pro 5,5). this model isn't technically supported for windows 8 so the only drivers i can find are for windows 7.. When i tried to install the latest boot camp drivers (version 5.1 i believe) from the site it said it could not be installed because my machine was not running windows 7. i tried installing as an administrator and with compatibility mode but to no avail..
