Fat Cat Dishcloth

Fat Cat Dishcloth




Fat Cat is based on the old method of learning to draw by starting
with a letter or number, in this case a Q.
Do you remember? This cloth looks curly because it is laying on a bush!

Finished cloth with this size needles is 9" x 9".
Size 4 needles.
A plain color of worsted weight cotton yarn.
Cast on 47 Stitches
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: Knit.

Row 5: Knit.
Row 6: Knit.
Row 7: Knit 4, purl 39, knit 4.
Row 8: Knit.

Supplies;
worsted weight cotton yarn
size G hook

Abbreviations;

sc = single crochet
st = stitch
sts = stitches
ch = chain

Row 1:Ch 2, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Ch 1 and turn.(2 st)
Row 2: 2 sc in 1st st, 2 sc in last st. Ch 1 and turn.(4 st)
Row 3: 2 sc in 1st st, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in last st. Ch 1 and
turn.(6 st)
Row 4: 2 sc in 1st st, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in last st. Ch 1 and
turn.(8 st)
Row 5: 2 sc in 1st st, sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in last st. Ch 1 and
turn.(10 st)

Row 41 and edge: Sc across to last stitch, 3 sc in this stitch do not turn over, turn clockwise.
Edging: Sc around outside edge, with sc 2 tog in smallest part of tail , 3 sc in nose,
sc 2 tog in smallest part of tail again, continuing back to the beginning of row 41.
2 sc in same stitch as first stitch in row 41,
slip stitch together with first stitch of row 41.
Cut yarn leaving a tail long enough to hide the end. Hide yarn ends, done!
