Film at home
Film at home
Last week I found myself with a free night which hardly ever happens so I knew that I couldnt waste it! I ordered photo chemicals a few months ago but hadnt mixed them yet so I decided to give it a try. When I worked in the lab I always mixed chemicals in 5 gallon quantites but since Im working in my tiny kitchen and not a fancy photo lab, I just made them 1 gallon at a time. I wasnt sure that Id measured everything correctly but the negatives came out fine so I guess I did.
My supplies + my measuring bottle. I really thought I had everything I needed but it didnt take long before I realized that I had forgotten measuring cups, thermometers, funnels... you know... the important photo chemical mixing stuff. I made due with a Nalgene bottle and guessed with the temperatures but a trip to Wal-Mart is in my future.
The finished chemicals and me in the process. (Tamala, I know that Im not wearing gloves and goggles but Im going to get some very soon!)
My negatives. Ill be sure to scan them and post soon.... if they dont look awful. Most of the photos are of baby Kalea though so there really is no way that they could look bad.
Its nice to be able to process my own film at home. Any other film photographers in Sumter? If so, youre invited to process at my house!! Today is my last day of working before Christmas and Ive got lots of posts in the works. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday...Christmas is very soon!!! YAY!
